For Patricia Urquiola from Studio Urquiola, creating a seamless link with this architecture was critical. She used natural materials and colours, travertine and green aver marble, wood and leather with sandy tones and light blues to best reflect the wondrous natural setting. Creating a visual work of beauty is not enough however. The internal experience – living in the villa - must match the external splendour, making a home that is practical as it is beautiful and this is where Ms Urquiola excels.

“The villa is not a work of art for me but rather a place of residency, somewhere functional and comfortable,” she says. “It is a house designed for the international community of Dubai. Residents will live in the core of an international metropole while still being able to enjoy their personal oasis of tranquillity. It’s a residency that tells of design and refinement. I am sure the beautiful view to the sea will amaze them afresh every morning.”
